FAQs
Is this just for writers?
Nope! You need not be a professional writer to participate in and reap huge rewards from this special series. We use writing as a tool for finding clarity, tapping intuition, self reflection, professional growth.
Strengthening your connection to the page and your own voice is critical for your career, too—and the more confident you feel there, the more powerfully you can communicate your ideas to everyone else in your world.
Does it matter if I'm an entrepreneur or an employee?
Nope! Your tax status doesn’t matter here. Everyone is a little bit of everything these days. We’re living in hybrid times. Full-time, part-time, side hustler, dreamer, schemer—all welcome.
I've been feeling really blocked and stuck lately. Can this help?
Absolutely. That’s what it’s designed to do. We all feel that that contraction, that squeeze, occasionally (or a lot). It’s natural. But to be in a state of tightness all the time doesn’t make you more efficient; it makes you feel blocked, and that’s when anxiety and a sense of scarcity set in.
These sessions are designed to help you do the opposite: Feel like there is room for you, for your voice, for your work. That there’s possibility in the power of your own attention and energy when you focus it.
What are the sessions like?
In a word: Expansive. More words: Fun. Exciting. Inspiring. We begin the day with a prompted writing session designed to get your creative juices flowing—and combat that “squeeze” that accompanies the start of so many mornings. And we send you off to your day with a sense of broad, expansive possibility—and the amazing feeling of having created something first thing in the morning.
Then, we gather round the virtual campfire at night to end the day on a transformative note—with some writing, some feedback and discussion. It can be really powerful to close with a sense of community.
Our work is informed by the Gateless Method, which I’m trained and certified in, and you'll learn how to use. It's an approach to finding ease and flow in the act of creating, to quiet the fight-flight-freeze, and help you access your own brilliance—without criticism or judgment.
What should I work on?
Now we’re getting to the good stuff! It’s of course entirely up to you. But one thing to know is that when do a session together, we start fresh, from a blank page. If you have a project you’re currently working on, use this time to create something new, and then later you can work that into the project at hand.
There is no “right” way to use this time—meaning, if you come thinking “I need to write 5 blog posts,” well, for one person that might be motivating, but for another, it’s spiritually deadening. Some people know they want to think about their next job or business or book, or maybe to figure out who they are now. I’d encourage you not to come in with a hard agenda that feels like work. Come with an air of curiosity and discovery.
What if I can't make all the sessions?
No problem! Come to as many as you can and we’ll send you the replays! Don’t let missing one or two sessions cause you to miss out on ALL of them. Some people experience a transformative shift in their minds and their work in a single session. So if this is calling you to you, don’t let your schedule tell you what you can or can’t do. Your schedule works for you.
